That's it... I'm OLD! I've finally gotten to the point where I not only do not understand young people's music but I think it is indicative of something having gone horribly and irreparably wrong with society. Being amongst kids all day long, I hear what they are listening to firsthand. While I can babble about this subject indefinitely, I'm just going to make a few points and keep it moving.
1) Waka Flocka? WTH? That's got to be the dumbest rap name ever! It sounds like something your 3 year old cousin (with a speech impediment) came up with. And his songs are um... just listen.

2) Have you heard "Pretty Boy Swag" by Soulja Boy? Is he for real? Not only is it just as garbled and lyrically inane as his other work, it sounds like his mama let him go the recording studio without his inhaler!

3) Ke$Ha? Damn! If I hear one more person refer to this misguided pop tart as a rapper I am going to vomit. This is Ke$Ha with the benefit of studio editing. Those who saw her SNL fiasco know what happens without!

First of all let me say that at 55 y/o, i have a very hard time viewing You as being old,... officially or otherwise! "Old enough", yes! But OLD, no.

Music as a celebration of life can & should take on many forms, to reflect the many lifestyles of the artists. However,... it still has to be MUSIC!!! It seems to me that so much of rap is canned ranting by angry kids who wanna bitch instead of actually saying or doing anything meaningful! Call me old skool, but gimme R&B, or old time Rock & Roll any day!
And BTW, give my regard to A/all in The Windy City! Ms Devi & i sorely miss E/everone!!!

oh LORDY @wickedenigma you NAILED it PURRfectly about mushmouthed rappers and pop TARTS who can't sing nor rap worth a DAMN through i'll add that ANOYING " friday girl" song (shuuder) just HORID and as far as rap goes "david banner" god that boy sounds like he's got a bucket on his head, and as far as rock and metal goes just sooooo many dwb (dumb white boys) i could spend weeks listing all the bad ones oh and it's me krisalyx just wanted to make sure you knew it was me (giggle)
